Obtaining a Business License in Tonga

Process

1. Business licensing online application via the Business Registries Office, after creating an account (Step #1).
2. Pay registration fee via credit card, cash, or cheque (US$24 – TOP58)

Required Information

1. Owner details:

• Individual owner(s): Full personal details are required.
• Registered entity (e.g. company): Only the registration number is needed; the system will automatically retrieve the relevant details.
• Unregistered entity: Full details of the entity and its owner(s) or responsible person(s) must be entered.

Note: If the owner is a foreign investor, this must be indicated in the application along with the Foreign Investor Certification Number.

2. Business Details:

• Principal business address, any additional business locations, and a mailing address.
• Business activities, selected through drop-down menus for “Section,” “Division,” and “Group”.
• Declaration confirming that all submitted information is accurate.

Issuance certificate of registration 

After submission, the Registrar will review the application. If additional information is needed, the Registrar will contact the applicant via email. The application will be marked pending until all required information is received.If the application meets all legal requirements, the Certificate of Business Licence will be issued and sent by email.
